Southwest LRT Community Works Program 

Purpose
In order to maximize the public benefits of the investment in the Southwest LRT line, the Hennepin County Board established the Southwest LRT Community Works Program in December, 2009.  The Southwest LRT Community Works Program will support a comprehensive, integrated, collaborative planning approach, across multiple municipalities, where land use planning and LRT engineering inform each other to maximize the public benefit and investment in the Southwest LRT line. 

Governance & Policy
The Southwest LRT Community Works Program is under the direction of a steering committee composed of the project partners including:
     - Elected officials appointed by the Cities of Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minneapolis, Minnetonka, and St. Louis Park
     - One Metropolitan Councilmember
     - Two Hennepin County Commissioners
     - One Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority Board Member
     - One Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Manager
     - One Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board Commissioner
     - One SouthWest Transit Board Member
     - One Urban Land Institute Representative

Meetings
Steering Committee Meetings are open to the public and are held on the third Thursday of each month from 1:30-3:00pm at the St. Louis Park City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Boulevard.
